Privacy Policy
What this website collects, why, and how long we keep it. Short, because the site does very little.

Raconteur Press, an independent publisher based in Texas. Questions about anything on this page go to info@raconteurpress.com.
What we collect
The contact form
If you use the form on our Contact page, we store what you typed — your name, your email address, the topic you chose and your message — in this website’s database, along with the date and time of submission. We use it to answer you. We don’t sell it, rent it, or add you to a mailing list from it.
Server logs
Our web server records ordinary access logs: IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser’s user-agent string. This is standard operation and troubleshooting data. Our login-protection plugin also records the IP addresses of failed administrator sign-in attempts, which is how it blocks brute-force attacks.
What we don’t collect
To be clear about the things a publisher’s website often does and this one doesn’t:
- No analytics or visitor-tracking service. No Google Analytics, no pixels, no heatmaps.
- No advertising networks and no behavioural profiling.
- No public comments, so no commenter data or Gravatar lookups.
- No shop and no payment processing. Books are bought from retailers, on their sites, under their policies.
- No reader accounts. The only logins are staff accounts.
Cookies
If you are just reading the site, we set no cookies. Signing in to the administration area sets standard WordPress session cookies, which is only relevant to our own staff.
Leaving this site
We link out to retailers, to Substack and to social platforms. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else’s site, subject to their privacy policy and not ours. Author royalty payments are administered through Pubshare, which contributors sign up for directly — that relationship is between the author and Pubshare.
How long we keep it, and your rights over it
Contact form submissions are kept while the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards. Server logs rotate on a short cycle.
Email info@raconteurpress.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. We would rather do that than argue about which regulation obliges us to.
